Olmert and Rice. You probably will never see a picture like that with Abbass. How warm!

Please. Leaders from the Arab World, Palestine and Israel are meeting in a Conference in Annapolis to discuss the future of the region. I’m not sure how anybody expects a conference called by the United States (and by Bush at that) to build a better Middle East. Eversince Bush got into power, one of his first declarations was to give Israel the “Go Ahead Pass” to do whatever was necessary for them to secure dominance in the region. And this is who is calling for talk?. Let’s be serious! I do agree the Conference is doomed. No wonder Palestinians are protesting. The US has proved time and time again its partiality when it comes to Israel. Bush is at the end of his term and looking for glorification some way or another since he is going out as one of the worst presidents in US History. The Bush Administration actually went as far as promising the talks would be wrapped in under a year. How optimistic! When years of negotiations have not solved anything to date! Hamas is not present, because they are considered a terrorist organization. How do you want to achieve Middle Eastern peace without talking to Hamas? Much ado about nothing!

A Mediator has to be IMpartial. Otherwise, he is just another player in the game looking to back its interests. The US has never been partial regarding its perpetual backing of Israel. Simply stating that Arabs and Palestinians do not want peace, as I have heard before, is completely idiotic. These people have to live in Refugee camps in their own country. I would suppose peace and a return to normal conditions is the most important things on their minds. But not under just any circumstances. It’s about more than just land!

Gosh Israel’s mere existence is enfuriating! Once again, thanks to the French and the British! When will this ever end…?

Like I said, whoever got there first, STAYS. Simple and fair!

“The other day in Washington a colleague of mine (Jeremy Bowen’s) asked the White House press secretary what journalists should call the Middle Eastern event that is about to happen in Annapolis. The press secretary did not offer any advice. An aide suggested “get together”.

Jeremy Bowen, Middle East Editor, BBC.

Sure, that’ll work!

Until then, Enjoy when you can, Endure when you must,
